Gregory D. Squires is a writer, researcher, and Professor of sociology, public policy, and public administration at George Washington University. and sits on the board for the National Housing Institute. Recent awards include induction to the Distinguished Service Honor Role of the Urban Affairs Association (2020) and Contribution to the Field of Urban Affairs Award from the Urban Affairs Association (2018).

Squires regularly writes articles for Shelterforce: The Original Voice of Community Development, and previously was a Professor of Sociology for University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Research Analyst for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. His book on fair-housing policy, From Foreclosure to Fair Lending: Advocacy, Organizing, Occupy, and the Pursuit of Equitable Credit (New Village Press, 2013), was co-edited with Chester Hartman. 

As a member of the Fair Housing Task Force of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and the Social Science Advisory Board of the Poverty & Race Research Action Council in Washington, D.C., Squires works to address housing discrimination at the intersection of health, race, and place.
