The Reversing Falls Sanctuary is hosting Robert Shetterly’s, co-author of Portraits of Peacemakers, exhibit “Close to Home” featuring portraits of subjects with a Maine connection. There will be an opening reception Saturday June 6, 2026 at 1-4pm.

Through August 9, 2026: Lucy Lippard exhibition at New Mexico Museum of Art, Vladem Contemporary, Santa Fe, NM

Learn more about the life of Lucy R. Lippard, author of Stuff: Instead of a Memoir, at the exhibition “Notes from the Radical Whirlwind” at the New Mexico Museum of Art, Vladem Contemporary. The exhibition, featuring a selection of artworks, artist’s books, posters, political button and activist ephemera, traces Lippard’s prolific career and contributions to the art world.

June 22, 2026 – Claudia Bernardi to present new book with featured art at Blacksburg Books in Blacksburg, VA

Claudia Bernardi will be presenting Art Against Brutality at Blacksburg Books, featuring several of the community murals from the book. A discussion of the themes of community and art in times of war will precede a book signing.

June 26, 2026 – Claudia Bernardi Q&A and art activity at Shelf Life Books in Richmond, VA

Claudia Bernardi will be in conversation with local VA artist Hamilton Glass at Shelf Life Books. They will discuss Art Against Brutality and themes of community art. There will be an art activity included in this event as well as a book signing.

Claudia Bernardi will be presenting her latest book Art Against Brutality at the Staunton Public Library. She will discuss the political violence people have suffered and how community art can be a form of healing.

July 11, 2026 – Carl Anthony’s celebration of life in Oakland, CA

Carl C. Anthony (1938-2026) was an architect, regional planner, social and environmental justice activist, and author. He edited and published the first environmental justice periodical, Race, Poverty and the Environment Journal, with his colleague Luke Cole. He explains his philosophies and tells the story of his life’s work in The Earth, the City, and the Hidden Narrative of Race. Celebrate his life July 11, 2026 at 2-5pm.

August 27-30, 2026 – Bill McKibben to speak at the 2026 Greenbelt Festival in Northamptonshire, England

Writer and environmentalist Bill McKibben, essayist in Robert Shetterly’s Portraits of Earth Justice, will remotely join a lineup of featured guests for a second time at the 2026 annual festival hosted by English-based activist organization Greenbelt.
