Lily Yeh

 

Portrait of Lily YehLily Yeh (1941–) is an artist, author, and internationally recognized leader in placemaking, participatory community building, and transformative artmaking movements. 

She is the founder of The Village Arts and The Barefoot Artists. She is the author of Awakening Creativity: Dandelion School Blossoms (New Village Press, 2011) and co-author of Healing from Genocide in Rwanda: Rugerero Survivors Village, an Artist Book (New Village Press, 2021) with artist Susan Viguers

Yeh has worked around the world, in Kenya, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Rwanda, China, Taiwan, Ecuador, Syria, Haiti, to name a few. Her work with The Barefoot Artists is showcased in a documentary film directed by Glenn Holsten and Daniel Traub.
